Delhi Tourism at Yamuna Sports Complex and Rugby Sports Ground Dandiya / Garba celebrations

Dandiya and Garba festivities are in full swing across the country on the auspicious occasion of Navratri, with enthusiastic participation from people of all ages. The Dandiya Festival, one of the most awaited cultural events, attracts the younger generation in particular, who turn up in colorful traditional Gujarati attire, dancing with vibrant energy to the beats of music.

As part of these celebrations, Delhi Tourism, in collaboration with the Delhi Government, organized a two-day Dandiya Festival at two major venues – the Rugby Sports Ground, Delhi University (North Campus) and the Yamuna Sports Complex (Football Ground). Both venues witnessed an overwhelming response from visitors who enjoyed the vibrant atmosphere of music, dance, and cultural festivities.

Today’s celebration at the Yamuna Sports Complex was graced by the presence of Hon’ble Mrs. Rekha Gupta, Chief Minister of Delhi, and Hon’ble Mr. Kapil Mishra, Tourism Minister, Government of Delhi, as Chief Guests. Also present were Mrs. Niharika Rai, Managing Director, Delhi Tourism; Mr. D. Karthikeyan, General Manager, Delhi Tourism, along with several distinguished dignitaries.

The objective of the festival was to showcase India’s rich folk traditions while promoting Delhi as a cultural hub. Along with energetic Dandiya and Garba performances, the festival featured live music, Bollywood performances, and a wide array of food and beverages, creating an unforgettable experience for visitors.

The event drew not only enthusiastic participation from Delhiites but also attracted foreign tourists, highlighting the festival’s role in boosting cultural tourism in the capital.

The Dandiya Festival successfully blended tradition with modern entertainment, leaving behind cherished memories for all who attended.
