There’s a massive buzz in Ayodhya for the Ramotsav-2024 festivities, set to kick off on December 30 with the arrival of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as a prelude to the Pran Pratishtha ceremony on January 22, 2024.
Ramotsav-2024 is slated as the start of a month-long celebration that will seamlessly lead into the consecration ceremony of Ram Lala and the Ram Mandir. Things have picked up over the past several months at the Ram Janmabhoomi complex a hive of frantic activity to get everything ready here in time.
Envisioned as the biggest event in the history of India, Ramotsav 2024 is set to showcase the cultural and spiritual heritage of the country with devotional songs, Ramayana recitations, and staging of Ramleelas. Ramotsav celebrations will also feature a slew of Ramayana-centric competitions including painting, writing, costumes, and singing, in basic and secondary-level schools across Uttar Pradesh, to instil the ideals of Lord Ram in schoolchildren.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has been instrumental in revving up activity on several fronts to underpin his commitment to boosting the economic development of the state and preserving its spiritual values.
During the Ramotsav 2024 roadshow on December 30, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate significant projects, including an international airport and a railway station; the PM will also hand out gift projects worth over Rs 1000 crore to Ayodhya to give fresh impetus to this new phase of development of the holy city.
The Ramotsav 2024 roadshow will be a rehearsal of sorts for the Pran Pratishtha ceremony and will include the fine-tuning of the coordination among various agencies, including the Public Works Department, Government Construction Corporation, Development Authority, and Ayodhya Municipal Corporation.
A range of initiatives to decorate and beautify ‘Ramnagri Ayodhya’ are also being launched at the time of PM Modi’s visit on December 30 to showcase the city’s transformation. The route of the roadshow will be decorated for the auspicious event with floral arrangements of roses and marigolds. Temples and ashrams have also made special preparations to welcome PM Modi.
Furthermore, the Ayodhya Development Authority (ADA) is working apace to embellish the four arterial roads leading to the Ram Janmabhoomi– Ram Path, Bhakti Path, Janmabhoomi Path, and Dharma Path, with attractive depictions of leading episodes of the Ramayana-era with beautiful mural sculptures and mural paintings; artifacts made of pebbles and stones artifacts will also be set up at various ghats and locations. The terracotta murals are a vibrant showpiece of ADA’s strategy for the Historical City Circuit and Heritage Walk. These decorative expressions will also serve as an open-air art gallery for visitors to imbibe the rich heritage and spiritual vibe of the historic city.
All this is scheduled to be readied in time as a grand rehearsal as an overture to the big day—the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of Ram Lala on January 22, 2024. The new thrust on development in the holy city, to create a seamless blend of art, heritage, and state-of-the-art infrastructure, underpins the ADAs determination to make its tourism initiatives and role as a global spiritual capital by 2047, a big revenue earner for Ayodhya.
